Sherlock

We adopted Sherlock from The Buddy Foundation. The first week was rather hectic for us. Sherlock was full of energy and wanted to constantly play with our other dog Oreo who is nine years old. We were in search of a trainer to help us figure out how to handle Sherlock, and how to better interact with Oreo.

We contacted Erin through the Buddy Foundation information packet handed out. Erin got back to me the same day, when I learned she had worked with Sherlock at the shelter I knew she would be a great fit to come and work with us. She came over within a few days and spent a great deal of time with us providing some useful training tips to help them interact better. She is very knowledgeable and gave us great insight into how a dog thinks and how we should react.

In addition, we had Erin help with walks, Sherlock loves to pull you and go after squirrels. She walked with us and recommended a different leash, keeping him on a short leash, and to always walk in front of him to take the lead. When a squirrel was near Erin demonstrated how to focus his attention on something else. These tips have made our walks much more enjoyable.
